Merry Christmas!

Hamming it up this Christmas

Boy this year has been busy! The second half of the year was filled with a crazy boatload of activity and drama, culminating in my siamese cat, Rufus, being hospitalised on Sunday for an emergency procedure due to a kidney stone-induced blockage and infection! But, I’m super pleased and relieved to report that he’s recovering well and has been discharged to come home with us for Christmas. Keep reading →

Crazy About Nuts

It’s no secret that I enjoy drinking. A glass of wine at dinner, a bit of whiskey while I watch TV at home, or an ice-cold pint on a hot day; these are some things I will never say no to. I’ve even got a decently kitted-out bar at home, complete with both a cobbler and Boston shaker, Hawthorn and Julep strainers, a couple of muddlers, pretty bar spoons/stirrers, homemade brandied cherries, and most types of hard liquor (except vodka – a night back in uni days of three people, 1 bottle of Absolut Citron, and drinking-Jenga was a recipe for me never being able to drink vodka ever again). Cherry Tomato Vinaigrette

Those of you who follow me on twitter or instagram have probably heard/seen me whining about my (most) recent effots in losing weight. In particular, for about 4 weeks now, I’ve been on a diet that excludes most types of carbs.
