So no trip to New York can be complete without a mandatory touristy shot of the Statue of Liberty (I was vaguely contemplating linking the wikipedia site but I’m going to assume all of you know what it is since anyway if you don’t there’s a picture above) and I’m caving and posting my very warped picture of it not just on my flickr but also on my blog. Yes, that’s right, the torch is shining. They turned it on for me.

Thus far, the number of photos in the US set has increased to 41, and I’m only like 4 days into the holiday. Somehow, I’m meant to survive 10 days starting next Monday with only 7GB worth of CF cards (2 or 3GB of which I don’t actually trust thanks to the curious incident of the CF card in Cambodia) and about 10 rolls of film. Keep in mind that this is me shooting in RAW (on the 30D anyway) which means basically that each picture is about 7-8MB in size.

Ho-hum. Hopefully the next few days when I cover Greenwich, Soho, Little Italy, Chinatown, East Village, Union Square Times Square (again), Chelsea galleries and Chelsea Market, and Central Park (the latter on Sunday when it’s actually gonna hit 15 degrees celsius!!! I know!! In WINTER in NY! Hah.) I’ll be all camera-ed out and then I’ll not run out of space nor have over 200 pictures to potentially lose in any one card assuming another “accident” with the stupid Lexar cards happens again. –bearhugs a tree Please don’t let it happen.

Ok I’m done rambling on about nothing in particular but I still have a few photos to upload – the stupid wireless that I’m stealing from some neighbour or other is MOTHERFUCKINGSLOW so I’m going to go.. I dunno, eat some cereal while I wait.

Pffffft.

  • Hmm…so you have no laptop or anything to download all of your photos, so that to recycle the storage space of the card? Pfffft.

Good luck, kiddo. I really keep my fingers crossed for you! ;-)

  • Yup that’s right. Good luck to me too. :p

  • Another option is to find a local photo development/camera shop wherever you go. You can get your pictures saved into CDs and its not ex. Ashwin did that on his aussie trip.

Another alternative (too late now btw) is to borrow entire my ipod setup hahaha. That’s how I survived 2.5 weeks in Europe on two 1GB cards and a trigger happy finger :P

  • Yeah I figure I’ll probably use the former option if I really run out of space. I actually have a 60GB iPod, it’s just that I’ve already got so many things with me so I decided to just leave it behind, and pray that I get sick of shooting by the time I’m computer-less. ;p
