Facebook Woes

Posted in Uncategorized | 1 Comment »

I’m not one of those Facebook whores/obsessive compulsive facebook-checkers, and more often than not I end up forgetting that facebook exists, let alone that I have an account there. The result: every month or two, when someone mentions facebook while I’m online, I’ll end up remembering and checking it in a hurry, only to find that I’ve got a gazillion friend requests/friend-detail requests, and then the chaos ensues. Awesomely neat soap dish-like contraption to keep your stuff that needs to be charged, especially handy when there’s no side table or something nearby. Love the black one! (via popgadget)

I’m having a little do after my exams, and letting the bunny relive her days of british pub fare. having a bit of a problem deciding on what dessert to do, ‘cos I had originally intended to do bread and butter pudding, but can’t really decide if I should now. Just did it twice in a row, but I do love b&b pud. Can’t really think of many others which are categorically british, but here are the choices:

  • bakewell tart
  • rice pudding
  • trifle
  • eton mess
  • sticky date toffee pudding

The problem with bakewell tart is that if I’m doing any sort of tart with frangipane in it, I’ll probably wanna try out making a pine nut torte, which won’t be as british as I’d like. I know a simple solution would be to just STICK to the damn bakewell tart, but that’s what’s gonna happen. So there. I’m not THAT huge a fan of rice pudding, it’s a little to gooey and messy and jelat for me. But then again I doubt I’ll have that much space for dessert. Trifles and eton messes aren’t my favourite dos either, but then again that could be ‘cos I’ve never eaten really yummy ones. The fruit always tended to be a bit too sour. And anyone who knows me knows I can’t handle sour. Not to save my life. Sticky date toffee pudding I’d LOVE to do, but it’s very difficult to find fresh medjool dates. Or dried ones for that matter.

So. Any suggestions on what the quintessential british dessert is? Or, for that matter, do any of you who are coming have any preference as to your favourite british dessert? Let me know. I could be swayed. Especially if you’re bringing extra beer. :D

Snoop Bunny Bunn and I found these in a little shop near our old pad (and now own 12 of the 100 brought into Singapore), and I re-stumbled upon them in the thorsten van elten website. Other cool finds on the website include Capt’n Hook blackboard, Big Ginormous Pink Clip, the step ladder I’m going to buy for the new place, FNP shelf, a magazine reader that won’t hold all the mags I hoard, USB memory sticks (literally), and a possible replacement since SBB refuses to buy me my Burberry sheep. (via the ibis, who linked up this nifty table. WOW that was a lot of links.)

How Bizarre

Posted in Uncategorized | 5 Comments »

I’ve just been told a (true) story of a friend’s cat who used to disappear at night, and one fine day, said friend found out that the reason behind her cat’s disappearance was that it had been lured out galivanting with the neighbour’s RABBIT. What’s worse - the terrible two used to terrorize another neighbour’s DOG by taunting it through the fence!

So clever. But I don’t know what I would have done if I was walking around the neighbourhood and saw a bunny hopping alongside a fat cat, the two of them out on a lazy Sunday stroll.

That’s more or less the new term for homosexuals now, I suppose, according to dearest MM LKY. And since when have you been so interested in following the world “a few respectable steps behind”? Anyway, what happened to you checking with doctors and finding out that homosexuality is natural? (via bun)

In case any of you ever meet my little bunny wabbit (stew) and need to figure out how to talk to her. I’m particularly taken by the “basic body positions”. (Scroll down to the bottom. And no, vick, don’t haduken.) Anyway, thanks also to vicki who seems to think I need lessons in learning to speak fluent Rabbit. Update: Here’s my favourite page. Will go try it on my bunny later.

Obviously Studying Very Hard

Posted in Uncategorized | 8 Comments »

is this not the KEWLEZT fireplace you’ve EVARRR seen? (photo taken from desire to inspire where blackie and i are spending our virtual money on dream houses.) well maybe not. there are some pretty damn neat ones here too. And er. I guess maybe they’re hot. Not… so much cool. Hur hur hur.

ANYHOW. I’m gonna be back in NUS next semester it seems! If I passed today’s exam, we all know that studying has absolutely NOTHING to do with it, and that the science faculty DOES indeed prefer creativity over rote learning! WOOOT. i live in hope.

also, i’m founding the BANKRUPTED BY OUR HOUSES club. so far there’s me (who is bankrupt anyway, haha), blackie (who’s already lusting after huge kitchens even though she doesn’t cook - i think there’s something about hiring me as her personal chef so i don’t mind lah we encourage her okay everyone?) and bunny (who always says she’s very poor anyway. YES BEAR YOU VERY POOR).

bleeeep. over and out.
