Iggy’s

Posted in Uncategorized | 8 Comments »

So, now we know that they aren’t the top 98th restaurant in the world for nothing - not that our standards are really remarkably high. Impeccable service, ridiculously good food (where good doesn’t even begin to describe how good it was), and rather nice ambience (save the irritating group of businessmen who were trying to one-up each other on I’m-more-successful-than-you-are games).

For the uninitiated, Iggy’s (talked about here by much bigger foodie Chubby Hubby) is a 28-seater run by owner Ignatius Chan - who the restaurant happens to be named after. Fully booked every night, if you’re intending to get a table (on weekends, at least), you’re gonna have to call some two weeks in advance. With his german chef, Dorin Schuster, the former partner from Les Amis comes up with set menus for dinner that normally consist of 10 or more courses for a fixed S$150+++, wine not included.

Anyhoo, looking at all the pictures has gotten me hungry AGAIN, so if you’re interested to know what was on the menu last night, you can check out my photos here. Favourites included the quail stuffed with truffle risotto (pictured top left), and the sakura ebi cappellini with scampi oil (pictured right). My absolute favourite of the night was our pre dessert, a ridiculously light and creamy vanilla panna cotta, topped with candied tomatoes and basil ice cream - which strangely enough reminded me of macha ice cream.

So for those who can afford it, our verdict is officially in - go to Iggy’s, and go as soon as you can. All you need is an empty stomach. :) For those whose appetites (and wallets) aren’t quite as large, they also serve 2, 3 or 5 course lunches. This is one place I’m definitely revisiting. Soon.

Iggy’s is located on the 3rd floor of The Regent, Singapore. For reservations, call +65 6732 2234.

Prelude To A Kiss

Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

So my nights have been following a pretty predictable trend - drunk, drunk, drunk. Went to Iggy’s (see Chubby Hubby’s post for a slightly more descriptive page) for my date night tonight with the bunny, and followed up with half a bottle of wine at wine bar on club street (on top of the 2 glasses at dinner, oh plus champagne) and an apricot brandy with sprite at mox.

Too bloody drunk to process photos tonight. Will do it tomorrow. Mrrrgghhhhh.

Elevator Love Letter

Posted in Uncategorized | 2 Comments »

My pet once asked me how much I loved him - if I would help him bury a dead body, to be exact - and back then, I said no. A couple of days ago, I said yes, but only if I was deeerunk. Right now I’m drunk again so I guess that would be a yes.

To the other one I love enough to do that for (even when sober), I hope things look up for you soon. I know it’s gonna get terribly busy and tiring and awful and everything after this weekend, but you’ll be okay. I can say that like I know it because I do, because I know you’re strong enough. If I could I would go through everything else for you, but I guess I can’t (which sucks) and these are things you have to get through on your own (not that you’re alone because I’m here and there are many other people there for you too) but as in personally experience, but like I told you that other night (when I was also drunk), it gets better. I know because I was in a place similar to where you must be now, and things got better. Some very boring and cliched (I dunno how to do the accent aigu thingiebob) guy once said that the bad things happen so the good things feel as good as they ought to feel, which I think is bullshit because good things feel good even when there’s no bad preceeding, but I suppose it could work.

I miss you tonnes. And I’ll email you soon. Promise. (Or you can email me when you see this cos I don’t reckon you want to reply here haha.)

xxxxx

Never Again

Posted in Uncategorized | 2 Comments »

I’m so tired. Was still drunk at 9am, so something’s got to be wrong. Must wake up now and shower and head out for lunch with NA NA NA NA NAAAAAAAA who’s back! Oh god that took too much energy.

Must remember bring camera.

Through the retro nonsense last night, and the hiphop stuff I actually managed to dance to (that’s how drunk I was, as j. will attest to), all I heard in my head was “elevator, elevator, taaaaaake meeeeeee home”.

Lobotomy Please

Posted in Uncategorized | 12 Comments »

My head’s pounding - I finally caught the bunny’s vicious flu bug and I feel like death. My throat’s swollen to the size of freeking Afghanistan and I have enough phlegm to possibly fill the Indian Ocean, only it’s all stuck somewhere inside chest/between my nose and mouth (that little nasal passage way back there) and refusing to come out.

And this dude downstairs just decided to start testing out his opera voice (no it’s not nice, I would yell down and tell you only I have no voice) and I can’t even shut my windows ‘cos I’m running a fever and can’t cope with the aircon.

Gad I feel so bloody poor thing. Killmekillmekillmenow.

Space Travel

Posted in Uncategorized | 15 Comments »

I’m running out of space. I’ve maxed out my 100GB harddrive on my mac and have taken to using my girlfriend’s laptop (which, to be fair, she ignores) for my photo storage. Only it’s really stupid, considering how Photoshop is on my mac and not on this ugly thing. Anyway, I just checked, and I only have 16GB left on this 60GB harddrive.

I need an external harddrive for my photos. I’m thinking… as big as freeking possible (300GB?) and as small as possible (not the ginormous chunky ones that are about as big as a new computer anyway).

Okay, so maybe 300GB was overdoing a little (or not…) or something. But the point is that I desperately need space. Anyone has any recommendos?
