This is my other discovery of the year. :) (First one being Front Row.)
It’s a quaint little store, still very wet behind the ears (they’re not even 4 months old!) but boy is it a beaut. Shelves of books that are actually worth reading, ancient typewriters (the only thing that stopped me from buying one of those beauties was the fact that they’re not for sale - yet), INSTAMATIC! cameras, matchboxes masquerading as books, type-written poetry on graph paper… The list goes on.
So everybody, this is an ORDER. Trot down over to Telok Ayer Street (it’s on the opposite side of Cross Street from the huge-ass DBS, and near the temple). You’ll know what I mean when you see it.
Besides, they obviously have good taste in music too, so what’s not to love!
(Thanks for bringing me there, pooch! I heart you.)

I was looking for blogs on this shop! Yours is one of the first few! This other one has some pictures. http://thebookofshadow.blogspot.com/2006/03/books-actually.html

Cool, you should definitely go check the shop out.
March 14th, 2006 at 6:54 pm
i very happily selfishly hope they don’t suddenly get a deluge of visitors and turn mainstream. Anyway i KNOW why she doesn’t want you to buy! so that I can have it.
March 14th, 2006 at 7:45 pm
But if they don’t at least get a small deluge (that’s got to be contradictory) then they’ll close and we won’t have them anymore! But I defintely hope they won’t turn mainstream.
And she doesn’t want me to buy it ‘cos she says there is no space in the hutch. (Which is a rather valid point.)
